LOOKING FOR MORE PERFORMERS

Following a sell-out of their recent production of ‘Hamelin – The Musical’, Lichfield-based theatre company Goodrow Productions is looking to recruit new members to star in a Christmas Launch Party.

Goodrow Productions will be performing a number of songs from ‘Hamelin – The Musical’ and also introducing songs from their next musical “The Legend of Dinosaur George Muldoon”. There will also be a rendition of their much loved ‘A Christmas Carol’. The shows will be on the 21st and 23rd of December, and the company is inviting anyone interested in being involved to come along to rehearsals which will be Tuesdays 18.30-20.30 at Lichfield Football Club (formerly Enotts) and Sundays 17.00-20.00 at the 7th Lichfield Scout Hut (for directions click here).

“The aim of the company is to tell interesting stories in a fascinating way using original scripts and music, which is what we’ve worked really hard to deliver with ‘Hamelin and Muldoon’. We interweave physical theatre, dance and folk song to add to the magic of the storytelling,” said co-founder of the company and Musical Director Alan Rowe.

“And as well as writing all our own material, what makes us unique is the dynamic of our growing company,” said Alan. “We encourage adults and children with an interest in drama, often from the same family, to work together to create exciting theatre. Our productions are a great way for children, parents and even grandparents to spend time together doing something they love, be it acting or helping behind the scenes.

“Our last production included six family pairings and the dynamics make rehearsals incredibly supportive and friendly. And there’s a real communal pride and sense of achievement come performance night.

“Feedback for our full performance back in January with the production of ‘Hamelin – The Musical’ ranged from people being “so surprised at how utterly fantastic it was,” to asking if there were any extra shows because they wanted to see it again,” said Alan. “We hope our next musical will be just as thrilling, and we’re really excited about welcoming new members on board.”

Goodrow Productions invites anyone interested in being involved in any capacity to the next rehearsals – do tell your friends.
